TWITCH AUTO STREAM OPENER

Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Twitch Auto Stream Opener + GIFs Chrome extension and its supporting API service handle information.

1. Single purpose of the extension

The extension allows users to select Twitch channels to monitor and automatically open their streams when they go live. It also provides optional KLIPY GIF search and previews in Twitch chat. It may also close stream tabs that were opened by the extension after those streams go offline. Free access supports one monitored channel and is automatically available on each installation; optional Patreon Premium access unlocks unlimited monitored channels. Premium linked to a verified Twitch account supports any number of devices; unlinked key-only Premium supports up to two devices.

2. Information stored locally in the extension

The extension stores the following information in Chrome local extension storage so the features can work between browser sessions:

3. Information sent to the API service

The extension communicates with the service at szotyi.app. To provide its features, it may send:

The API service stores license records, linked device registrations, access status, and timestamps needed to operate licensing and prevent use beyond the plan limits.

The API service may also process the request IP address temporarily for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting. It is not used for advertising or location profiling.

KLIPY GIF search and chat previews

The optional GIF feature lets you search for GIFs, insert a short GIF code into the Twitch chat composer, and view the corresponding GIF in chat. You send the message using Twitch's own controls. People without a compatible extension version see a short [GIF: …] label. Older supported KLIPY links can also be displayed as previews.

When you open or search the GIF picker, our API sends KLIPY the search term (if any), the selected language/locale, the requested page, and a stable pseudonymous customer identifier derived from the installation identifier using a server-side keyed hash. The raw installation identifier, license key and authentication token are not sent to KLIPY. Media URLs and their delivery parameters are preserved as returned by KLIPY. The picker preserves the order and repeated entries of Search and Trending results; advertisements returned by KLIPY are displayed in their returned position in a labelled, sandboxed frame within the GIF picker. Advertising content is not stored in the GIF catalogue, history or favorites and cannot be sent as a GIF code. The API forwards the requesting browser User-Agent and the available advertisement width to KLIPY for compatible ad delivery. Loading an advertisement can disclose your IP address and browser request information to KLIPY and its advertising providers, which may process cookies or other identifiers according to their privacy policies. The extension does not provide Twitch identity, chat messages, payment details or a device advertising identifier for advertising. The separate test package offers a clearly labelled local sample advertisement without advertising network requests or billing.

After you submit a selected GIF and Twitch clears the composer, the extension reports the selected GIF identifier and its search term to KLIPY with the same pseudonymous identifier. The extension does not send the full chat message, your Twitch username, or the current channel name to KLIPY.

GIF previews are loaded directly from static.klipy.com, static1.klipy.com or static2.klipy.com. These media requests disclose your IP address and ordinary request information to the media provider. The extension requests these images without a page referrer. The server keeps the KLIPY API credential; it is never distributed with the extension.

To display GIF codes sent by other viewers, the extension sends only those codes to our authenticated API. These requests do not include the surrounding chat message, Twitch username or channel name and are not forwarded to KLIPY. Our server retains a shared catalogue of GIF codes and public GIF metadata for as long as the feature is provided, so previously sent codes can still be displayed after a restart. This catalogue is not associated with users or search history.

GIF allowances and collections are associated with your extension license. If you link Premium to Twitch, the license is also associated with your verified Twitch user ID. Free provides 10 GIF send attempts per day and Premium 100, resetting at midnight in Europe/Budapest. Distinct GIFs count when you press Send, even if Twitch rejects the message. Our API receives the GIF codes and a random operation identifier before the extension resumes your send action; it does not receive the surrounding message or channel. These accounting and retry records are retained for the current Budapest date and the preceding seven dates, with cleanup on the next GIF account request. The most recent allowance response is stored locally to update open tabs.

In version 2.4.13 and later, retry receipts are bound to the authenticated installation identifier. Only an unconfirmed attempt from the same installation, on the same Budapest date and less than one minute old can be retried without another charge. Completed or expired attempts cannot reuse their accounting receipt. This prevents reuse of old operation identifiers; it does not prevent manual reposting of public GIF codes in Twitch chat.

After the composer clears, the server keeps the last 5 distinct GIFs for Free or 50 for Premium as recent GIFs, for at most 90 days, with cleanup on the next account request. You can clear recent GIFs in the picker without changing your allowance. Premium users may save up to 100 favorites; these remain until removed or the associated license is deleted. Collections are shared by registered devices using the same license. Saved favorites become inaccessible in Free; using Free history trims it to 5 entries. Search terms are not stored in these records.

Code lookup responses are cached temporarily in extension memory for up to one minute. A Twitch tab may cache resolved GIF metadata for up to 30 minutes. Search results, queries and pending send information live only temporarily in memory. GIF requests may appear in normal operational access logs, but their search terms and codes are sent in the request body rather than in our API URL. KLIPY processes the data it receives under its own applicable privacy terms.

In extension version 2.4.12 and later, the local GIF preference only shows or hides the GIF button. Incoming GIF codes continue to be resolved and displayed while the extension is active, including when the button is hidden. Earlier versions used this preference to disable both the picker and previews. Viewers without a compatible extension see the text code, for example [GIF: cat-a1b2c3d4e5f6], rather than the GIF image.

Sign in with Twitch and linked Premium

You may sign in with Twitch from extension Settings and link an active Premium key to one verified Twitch account. Our server stores your permanent Twitch user ID, login name, license link and registered devices. The same account can recover Premium on other installations, on any number of devices using the same Twitch account. GIF allowances, recent GIFs and favorites remain shared by the linked license. Anonymous Free access remains installation-based.

Twitch handles your password and consent. The extension never receives your Twitch password, client secret or Twitch access/refresh tokens. We request identity only, without chat or email permissions. Twitch tokens are encrypted on the server for a login session of at most seven days. Token validity is checked on use and at least hourly during active use; expired tokens may be refreshed. Expired records are removed on a subsequent sign-in. Signing out removes the current session and attempts to revoke its Twitch access token. The account-to-license link remains so you can sign in again; contact support to remove or change that link.

The extension stores a separate account session token and your Twitch user ID/login locally. Random authorization states expire after ten minutes, and single-use return codes after one minute. These records are removed when used or on subsequent sign-in. OAuth return codes may appear in normal callback access logs. Twitch identity is used for authentication and license management and is not sent to KLIPY.

4. Twitch and Patreon

Twitch: The API service sends the user-selected Twitch channel names to the Twitch API only to determine whether those channels are currently live.

Patreon: Premium users may choose to connect through Patreon. The service receives and stores the Patreon account/member identifiers and membership status necessary to confirm Premium entitlement and to disable Premium access if that entitlement ends.

Payments: Premium payments are processed by Patreon. The extension and the API service do not receive or store payment card details.

5. What is not done with information

6. Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure

The use of information received through the extension and Chrome extension APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve the extension's single purpose and user-facing functionality, or as necessary for security, abuse prevention, and compliance with applicable law.

7. Data retention and deletion requests

Locally stored extension information may be removed by uninstalling the extension or clearing its extension storage. Server-side license, device, and Patreon entitlement records are retained while needed to provide access management, prevent abuse, and maintain the service. Requests concerning linked license or device records can be submitted through the Patreon creator page listed below.

8. Contact and changes
